| Customer Reviews: Average Rating: Rating : - Kiwi R&R legend Graham Brazier It all started while looking for "Sea Of Heartbreak" by Don Gibson on YOUTUBE when I decided to click on the video post by GRAHAM BRAZIER. Like everything else in Life it's either hit or miss, right? Quite truthfully I had never heard of this Kiwi singer/musician/songwriter before but after doing some research on him and the bands he's fronted, in particular *HELLO SAILOR* I was totally taken by his sound. "GUTTER BLACK" is a massive hit Down Under and would have been here in the USA had the NZ band toured America. This entire CD "EAST OF EDEN" has absolutely no filler material taking up space it is ALL bloody brilliant music and words. The guy is just something else! Starting with the cool cut "Long Gone For Good" to a very captivating "Greylands" on to what I feel is a classic R&R jam "Daughter Of Angelique" (you'll hit repeat for this song) then there's the bouncy Ponsonby feel-good "In Your Company" followed by one of the most wistful and beautifully haunting melodies I've ever heard in my 57 years, a ballad called "Closing Time"...Wait for THE BRAZZ MAN to tell the story of "Mr Asia" someone a good many old hippies from the late `60's might identify with if not know. Also the CD title song "EAST OF EDEN" it's just so artiscally witty and hip. Living taxi distance to NYC I've seen more Concerts at MSG and the Bottom Line etc. these past forty years and all I can say is that this veritable Kiwi legend will simply revitalize your love and enjoyment of good old R&R music. Like Luciano Pavarotti said "You don't have to speak Italian in order to like Opera. Just OPEN your ears!"..."EAST OF EDEN" try it ~ you'll like it. + See Full Customer Review | |
